Tips for New Lawns:
1. Before laying sod make sure the ground is even and saturated with water. There should be very few to no rocks to ensure the sod can grow evenly together.
2. Lay sod so that the seams meet, you should barely be able to see the seperation in the rolls.
3. Following laying the sod apply a fertilizer application.
4. Keep the sod very wet, when you step onthe sod it should be spongy and you should sink in. You will want to keep this up for 10 days. Stay off the grass during this period.
5. Following the 10 days of heavy water, water as normal (1 to 1.5 inches per week)
**A great way to tell if you are watering enough is to put an empty tuna can out in the yard. After you water for one week, check the can, it should be full.
